Meet the Team:

Spencer has been working in Running Specialty Stores now for almost 9 years come May 2016. He loves being involved in the running community and helping runners, walkers and exercise enthusiasts with the right type of footwear. Spencer has been a runner since he was in 6th grade and has recorded best times in the 1 mile (4:32) and 5k (16.10) during his High School career. Currently, Spencer enjoys running on a more casual scale and focusing on strength training as well as Olympic lifts. Spencer can be seen in the store with his 15 month old daughter, Elle, showing her the ropes of how proper running shoes should fit!

Sara is a recent VCU graduate, majoring is Exercise Science. Her specialization is Nutrition. Sara has been here at Road Runner since 2013. After becoming comfortable with ½ marathons, she is now training for her first marathon this year. Eventually, she hopes to run an Ultra Trail run!

Chris has been a member of the Roadrunner team for 3 years. He works part time at the store and is a History and Special Education Teacher for Richmond Public Schools. Mazella is originally from Buffalo, New York and doesn't mind cold weather running one bit. He ran Division III Cross Country at Keuka College, in the Finger Lakes region of New York, for 4 years. He has continued his running since his time there by training and participating in races of all distances - 5K to 50K. Returning to the area of his alma mater, in the Finger Lakes region, Mazella and his father are each doing their first 100K race in August 2016. Mazella leads the fun runs here at Roadrunner every Monday evening and always enjoys the company of any runners of all skill levels. Go Bills! Go Sabres!

Brandon started at Road Runner is November 2015. Graduating from Shepherd University in 2003 with an Exercise Science degree, Brandon moved to Baltimore MD to work at Loyola University Maryland as an Athletic Trainer. During the four years he was a Loyola, Brandon was introduced to many Division 1 athletes - Swimming, Diving, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, and Tennis. While at Loyola, Brandon met his wife Jessica. They have a 3 year old girl named Abigail. When he is not working at Road Runner, Brandon can be seen at Gold’s Gym enjoying a quality workout; or, working with The Nerd Herd Virtual Race Running Group as their Graphic Designer for the race bibs and Public Relations material. His life motto: “Today is. Tomorrow might be.”
